Playing Along at the Ritz
I Guess I Spoke It Into Existence
Not long ago, I mentioned that I would not mind doing more improv. Well, life heard me. And as always, it had its own idea of what that would look like.
A few weeks later, I found myself stepping into an improvised immersive theatre experience at The Ritz-Carlton Suite Opening Event in Bangkok.
It is hard to describe the feeling of performing in a space like that. The audience was lovely, the surroundings almost surreal, and the talented cast and director made the whole experience playful, fun, and full of surprises.
We performed a lighthearted piece called Internship and Other Interruptions — a little comedy of family life, distractions, and unexpected moments, all set in one of the most luxurious suites in the city. It had everything. Comedy, spontaneity, even a touch of classical singing from one of our brilliant actresses. And of course, a lot of room to improvise.
The best part for me? It reminded me how good it feels to simply play. To be present, trust the people around you, and see where the moment takes you.
Big thanks to the director, the whole cast, the event organisers, and The Ritz-Carlton Bangkok for letting me be part of this experience. Maybe life took me seriously after all. More improv? I am ready.
